About Us

Sunshine Coast Academy for Martial Arts has operating in Buderim since 2000. As a club under legendary Australian Martial Artist Bob Jones, we offer a range of Martial Arts and classes that can help just about anyone in their martial arts journey.

The styles we teach are Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai, Progressive Krav Maga, Zen Do Kai Karate and Kidz Karate. For more in depth information on these styles check out our ‘what we teach’ page.

Steve Panebiango
Steve Panebiango

Shihan Stepehen Panebiango of the Sunshine Coast Academy 4 Martial Arts has been servicing the Sunshine Coast since 2000 and is one of the most innovative dojos in Australia.

Stephen Panebiango is a Professional Martial Arts Instructor holding ranks in Zen Do Kai and BJC Muay Thai with over 30 years of teaching experience in martial arts, starting his training in 1986.

Steve holds the following ranks

  • 5th Degree Black Belt in Zen Do Kai
  • 4th Degree Black Singlet in BJC Muay Thai
  • 2nd Degree Black Belt in BJMA Krav Maga

James Weegen

Shihan James  teaches Zen Do Kai at Sunshine Coast Academy 4 Martial Arts..

Shihan James is incredibly  experienced and has been teaching martial arts instructor and has a passion for Zen Do Kai.

James holds the following ranks

  • 5th Degree Black Belt in Zen Do Kai

Jason Cornwall

Jason Cornwall teaches Zen Do Kai at Sunshine Coast Academy 4 Martial Arts including classes in Nambour.

Jason is highly experienced in the disability field and is an Instructor in Zen Do Kai. He has been training since 1987 with Renshi Steve Panebiango of the Sunshine Coast Academy 4 Martial Arts.

Jason holds the following ranks

  • Prob. 2nd Degree Black Belt in Zen Do Kai
  • 1st Degree Black Belt in BJMA Krav Maga

Ray Lindley

Ray teaches Zen Do Kai under Shihan Steve Panebiango at Sunshine Coast Academy for Martial Arts along with his wife Cathy Lindley.

Ray holds the following ranks

  • Prob. 2nd Degree Black Belt in Zen Do Kai
  • Brown Singlet in Muay Thai
  • Brown Belt in Krav Maga

Cathy Lindley

Cathy also teaches Zen Do Kai under Shihan Steve Panebiango at Sunshine Coast Academy for Martial Arts along with her husband Ray Lindley.
